I am interested in the conversion of biomass to energy and heat. The title of my thesis is, ‘mapping and characterizing biomass resources for sustainable value chain development’. This thesis aims to evaluate sustainable value chain development for the circular bioeconomy in Ireland, specifically in the regions of Tipperary and Monaghan. A characterization of the biomass resources in the regions of Monaghan and Tipperary will be useful in determining which technologies (biorefineries) should be developed.

I am Studying a master’s in Green Technology and Sustainable Energy in UCD, I previously studied Environmental Policy and Planning also in UCD. In 2012 I worked in the position of assistant engineer for Boddington Earth Moving, an excavation and earthmoving contractor on Christmas Creek mine, Western Australia. This position involved undertaking ITP’s, quality assurance reports, organizing daily soil sampling with the material consultants, weekly environmental reports, tracking of inventory of fuel, water and volume of materials to be moved. In 2015 I worked in a planning consultancy; Declan Brassil & Company Limited, this position involved assisting the senior planning consultant with administrative work, drafting planning reports, researching sites for proposed developments.
